There were also drive through liquor stores in IN and OH, but you couldn't get your drinks ready to go, only your typical six packs and bottles of wine. I have lived in Texas for most of my life, so I know all of these things to be true.

There was an Eskimo Hut in my college town, and I remember going to class seeing people sipping on a drink in an un-marked styrofoam cup, and I'm thinking, "hmmm...wonder what that is?" haha.

And yes, Texas has a gazillion restaurants, with huge portion sizes. (i have never paid attention!) many states also have brew-thrus or beer and alcohol drive throughs (not liquor usually). the drive through craze is all about convenience and i really miss it in norway, but it is not necessary here. people dont work long hours and not everyone has a car. in the states you get off work at 8pm and have to pick up meds and no one wants to step foot outta their car until they are home LOL :)

my favorite texas quirks happened when driving in west texas. people would wave at me (people on roads were sparse i guess) or the pull over to the shoulder and let people pass thing. it was always fun :) and hearing the word 'fixin' always reminds me of texas!

enjoy the rest of your trip!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989837755018110330.post-28796615114544270082012-10-01T20:45:53.500+04:002012-10-01T20:45:53.500+04:00Love this post!
